So basically I’m 39 and all was going well still.

Completely unrelated to poppers use but I have an
autonomic condition now where my heart rate runs faster
called I.S.T, it’s not a heart condition though. My cardiovascular
tests come back normal

I found that my heart rate runs too fast for too long
so its uncomfortable to use now.

I don’t drink or smoke and loved poppers so much but
the time has come to stop

Feeling sad :-(((

Enjoy your poppers my friends, open a new one for me ;-)

Kind regards Aurora

Just take a quick whiff and all will be right.

Was it a doctor that told you to stop, or you just felt too scared to continue? (Honestly curious, no judgement here)

The autonomic nervous system is a new one on me. Wish you well, Aurora.

PS. What is IST please?

I felt too scared to continue using as my heart rate was higher for one hour from a single sniff

I.S.T is inappropriate sinus tachycardia. So standing up or walking makes the heart rate go faster by a certain percentage depending on how badly effected the person is.

My case is mild yet after sniffing my heart rate went down as normal but then went back up ;((

To small a sniff and it i don’t feel the poppers, a medium sized sniff and it feels amazing as normal but higher heart rate for an hour

I don’t suffer from anxiety so it’s not that

I’m gonna miss it 😿

Did you get the Pfizer shot?

Aurora said on Sat, 7 Sep 2024 at 04:53...

I had two AstraZenecas then a Pfizer. I don’t have much knowledge about the vaccines though

A troublesome condition, Aurora. I would not go on any paranoia trips about vaccinations if I were you. The word sinus fills me with dread, that can be very painful. With any condition involving the sinus, it is best to stay clear of poppers. I mean they are going to agitate the membranes and make things worse for sure. I hope you cope well with this ailment, but hey! poppers are not so important, they are a minor aphrodisiac at best, although I suspect they can make long term cognitive connections with unusual pleasure, and thereby you might miss them for a few weeks. Try not to think about poppers. Happy thoughts only. Best of luck.

When you breathe using your chest, also known as shallow breathing, the sympathetic nervous system is primarily activated. This is part of the autonomic nervous system responsible for the "fight or flight" response. Chest breathing is associated with higher levels of arousal, can increase heart rate, and may lead to feelings of stress or anxiety.
In contrast, diaphragmatic breathing activates the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for relaxation and recovery of the body.
Yes, when you breathe with your diaphragm (deep abdominal breathing), it helps activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for "rest and recovery." As a result, your heart rate may decrease, and stress levels reduce. Diaphragmatic breathing helps the body relax, slow down the heart rate, and lower cortisol (the stress hormone). This is one reason why such techniques are used in meditation and relaxation practices to reduce anxiety and stress.

Then you can use poppers again. I had it.
