Excited to share how i refined amyl nitrite production at home with NO fumes and NO waste

Add 10 ml Sulphuric acid (96-98%) to 30 ml water

When it cools add 10 ml 98% isopropyl Alc

Freeze for an hour (not tor too long, if mixture gets too icy it clumps a bit)

Add 13g of Sodium Nitrite and the mixture almost immediately separates with top layer of amyl nitrite.
All recipes call for a sodium nitrite solutin which u add to alcohol/ acid and many a times it doesn't work and the yeild is tiny comparison to this method.

Isopropyl is NOT amyl. There are many ways to make a compound. I have already stated that you need excess alcohol and SN, which means the acid is less than what would be needed in a balanced equation. You do NOT want to see any blue nitrous acid, because that means you do NOT have enough alcohol or alcohol that's pure enough to rapidly, instantly combine with the nitrite. When nitrous lingers, it turns into nitric acid and NO2 gases. YOU DO NOT want that destroying the popper.
