While searching for information about diverse types of alkyl nitrites, I found this study from 2017.
To abstract it, it simply found that blood from people with diabete is affected by methemoglobinemia at a 2x to 3x faster rate than non-diabetic one.
So if you've a diabete condition, maybe you should avoid poppers, or at least have a a far more careful use of this drug.
