Warming feeling

Years ago, a friend made me try some poppers and I have yet to reproduce the feeling with what I’ve been buying lately.

All I remember is it had a strong, sweet aroma (almost like wine), I felt my body warm up and became rock hard for all of 45-60 seconds.

Any ideas on what type of poppers it may have been?
