It's always a risk, yes, but it very much depends on if you're still invincible or not.

Something as extreme as isopropyl that's fully strength will drop oxygen and boost heart rate to try to compensate.

When you are 25 years old, your body can handle such a high heart rate for a long period of time; your blood oxygen level may stay above 90% for most of the time, won't get down into the 70s, and the whole experience may leave you panting like you just ran a marathon.

At 50 years old, the same stuff will overpower your ability to stay in the upper 10% (90 to 100 %bpulse Ox), you'll start to feel horrible, days will drop to the seventies (and could be in the 50s given the way these O2 meters work (previous post).

That is not only horrible feeling, but dangerous to life.

Nobody over 50 should be using poppers, especially iso propyl. Maybe even 40 if you have health issues.
Steer clear.

Metabolism and fitness level smear that 50 years old limit.

I agree that as years go by, wasting heartbeats becomes an issue that wasn't even a fleeting thought at 25.

I turned 60 last year, of the three blends I make, I had to give up curation of the most reactive blend ( a mix of tert, sec and n-Butyl) because my heart can't beat fast enough to keep my O2 SATs on a comfortable place anymore.

But I do very much still partake in the middle blend (less tert) and still get a VERY good ride.

It's not a one size fits all thing, it's also not a situation that limits one to the reactivities that ant particular vendor limits you to by THEIR choices

There's a good ride for most people once you match the reactivity with your personal metabolism.

The Professor wow u made a tert, sec and n-Buty wow tht sounds friggin epic !!!! U can combind anytype of Nitrite with each other ??? Like if i combinded amyl nd pentyl ???

The Professor said on Wed, 18 Jan 2023 at 23:28...

Yes. Technically, Amyl and Pentyl are the same thing. I thought I posted about the naming conventions a few posts ago.

naming conventions --- where is that please?

The Professor said on Fri, 20 Jan 2023 at 20:15...

TDFG,

the name AMYL comes from a bastardized (slang) latin; it means 'of meal'
meal being grain that you bought at the Mill (or maybe traded a few chickens).

AMYL alcohol was taken as a by-product of the fermentation of grain. The DESIRED product was ethanol (grain alcohol) but it contained un-desired products as well. Today, we would call that stuff 'fusel oil'.

fast forward a few centuries; AMYL alcohol was no longer 'of meal' and many of its isomers could be prepped directly (until very recently, n-AMyl was still not directly available, and it is a synthetic product (thus the extra expense (like mobile 1 motor oil).

To make the name more descriptive, it is now known as Pentanol (5 carbons)

they both refer to the same alcohol and its isomers.

One reason why historically I've had a lot of bad experiences with poppers is that I would always be drinking while popperbating.

Usuaully that would mean a bottle of wine, or three cans of beer.

The first glass would really improve the experience. However after that, it made orgasm less likely.

So I would have these long sessions of 2-3-4 hours and never really get anywhere. Not able to cum from the poppers. But sniffing more and more, maybe 20 deep inhales or more during the session. Then maybe finally I'd jerk myself off half an hour later once I'd put the poppers away. And would be left feeling rotten.

The other day to try something differenrt, I used poppers on a day when I had not had any coffee in a few days, and I didn't drink any alcohol. And guess what, I found that I didn't need an epic session, after 15-20 minutes of porn and no more than 4 huffs I was thinking "I could cum now", and so I did. Therefore the session didn't take much longer than actual sex with a partner quite typically would.

So.... Sometimes it's not the fault of the poppers, but the combination with other things. And generally associating popper sessions with intoxication and heightened anxiety.

Also, I think I most likely have ADHD, and using poppers gets me trapped in my own solipsism. Sexual gratification being about consuming content (favourite scenes, or even just racy social media pictures of women I'm hung up on), rather than connecting with an actual living breathing partner who's in the same room as me. And of course my regret at that, feeds into the pull that poppers hold over me; it's a trap. But that's a topic for another day.

All poppers will cause bad effects....wretched fatigue and caving blood pressure that hits new lows. WHEN and IF they contain certain impurities. If you see a big YELLOW spot or Trance OUT when taking a whiff...it is CAUSED by impurities.

None of the Joe Miller poppers he was selling up to when he died EVER caused these symptoms in me.

A big cause of impurities is degradation....after they are made...or degradation of the nitrite while it is being formed.....poor quality alcohol will cause a bad popper.

@Billy....I believe most people change as they get older and older.....you won't even do it consciously...it will just happen.

So...never assume you will have the same priorities, drives a year from now or ten years from now. 20 years ago, I could edge all day, cyber sex and cyber porn. Now I rarely want to do it and it's always short lived...and I don't feel I'm missing out on anything. It's just not very interesting to me anymore.

I can pinpoint it. The BIG 5-0.
You should definitely not be popperbating at age 50, the human body can't handle it anymore.
