Just a silly question, when using poppers as a room odouriser do I just open the bottle and leave it continuously open until it degrades?

Also how long does the odouriser need to be left in a room before it takes effect?

Uhh, leave it open for ten minutes. Then have someone walk into the room and yell at you for being gay. It's *obvious* when poppers are opened.

I remember smelling poppers in a night club 27 years ago. They were very powerful back then before The EU poked their noses in and changed the formulas.

Silly reply, OldieUS.

Not a silly question, Newbie. These products are in fact used as a room DE-odorizer...a pianist once made a statement that he used Rush to deodorize his place, this was during the "great poppers clampdown" of years gone by, it is on record. Captain Rush, the PWD comic book hero, used to turn up at parties, and such, and deodorize / odorize parties....haha...those parties then went very well it seems. This was in the days when Rush was known as "Liquid Incense". In the USA it is now Solvent Cleaner, and it can be used for that too apparently, previously (following the sad close-down in Indiana) it was labeled as Nail Polish Remover.

If you are in doubt about what poppers are, and it seems here you can get sarcastic replies, check out:

As you will see amyl nitrite was, still is, used as dilatory med. Amyl is still used in snake bite kits. So the volatile nitrites have many uses it seems.......they were even used as a video head cleaner back in the day.....ha.

It was a BIG nightclub, but I could smell the spilt iso butyl popper from 20 feet away!

Isopropyl nitrite is very very potent and that's what's legal in the UK. If it's made well and is still fresh, it delivers a potent ass relax and good effects without noticeable side effects. It must be acid and water free, fresh and made well, possessing no toxic enhancing impurities. It's incredibly easy to make and to obtain the reagents(rubbing alcohol and muriatic acid).

Too much water and impurities result during the reaction...toxic effects. Too much acid and the yield dives, foams and bubbles. When reducing the water, you have to reduce the acid level. When drying, use more drying agent than you think...if it's clumping, use more.

Odor is pleasant and aromatic....nothing bitter or repulsive.

Nitritespecialist: They've waterered propyl down in the UK after it became common knowledge it causes vision loss.

@Nigel...IPN may require an inert oil to lesson volatility. It's as volatile as acetone nearly, which means a 10ml bottle will be gone in less than a day with periodic use.

Nitritespecialist oh thts wut u mean wen u say IPN isopropyl ? If thts the case. I dont think vhc wuld touch tht stuff. Since they had such good out come with PL-100 why the H wuld they switch to eye damge. They wuld lose all their custermers cuz they wuld b blind nd culdnt see their keyboard to place an order. Plus i bet ppl wuld b talking about it. Nd professor informed me tht propyl is to strong 4 human consumption and why it causes alot of side effects. What is the differnce if it can be described from isobutyl to propyl as in what mologule or whatever is responsibld for the cause of eye sight loss. Nd why all the other ones dont hav it? Wuld their ever be a way to adjust propyl to make it not hav side effects and good 4 usage? Or is tht wut ur saying if its make completly correctly nd dosent hav any toxins then it wuld be fine 2 use? Dosent just the fact of shipping the product cause it to degrade some nd then form toxins in it? (Reminder in about 2 days my next MASTER REVIEW comes out, rember 2 , like, subscribe, and comment, nd look out for (WP) they culd be anywhere !!!! XD !!!!!

There are several academic write-ups on this topic.

TL;DR

ANY alkyl nitrite can have this damaging effect; it's most likely with isopropyl because isopropyl has such a high vapor pressure.

The chemical pathway in the eye also responds to Alkyl nitrite, as part of the activity that involves 'seeing'.

The Fovea (central, most light sensitive part of the eye) is particularly vulnerable, and an excess of cGMP in the eye increases foveal pressure and oxidation. Your can end up with scar tissue developing in your Fovea, which is most often temporary, but can be a lengthy recovery or a permanent vision loss.

It's much more common in folks with high blood pressure to begin with, and IsoPropyl nitrite, being something like 118% reactive, is much more likely to cause it than lower nitrites

The Professor so i culd be damageing my eyes right now without even kmowing it ?????????? (Rember i ONLY use, ISO-BUTYL, SEC-BUTYL nd N-AMYL , thts it !!!! )
