So I live in Australia and i'm looking for a source as pure as possible of Isoamyl Nitrite (CAS 110-46-3).
I recently bought "Jungle Juice Gold Label Xtreme Formula" under the impression it was pure Isoamyl Nitrite but instead it states isoamyl nitrite CAS (110-46-3) and 3-Methyl-1-butanol (CAS 123-51-3).

I see many poppers that have this same mixture but what is the concentration of isoamyl nitrite? I'm looking to buy it for synthesis and not for use as a popper.

If anyone is aware of something I should be buying that's as close to 99% then let me know!

Esterification is second year chemistry usually. Look back at your lab notes; you can easily attain 90% purity. After a few periods under your belt. You'll have the data for the DKIW pyramid.

Once you have what you think is very good, an analysis will confirm or deny your assumptions.

With liquid phase, 2 nines is possible, if you need 3 nines purity, triple plate distribution or verify SDE will get you there.

Nothing you can buy will retain 3 nines purity during shipment.

I have been having a lot of luck making isopropyl nitrite over the past few months.

A ratio of 1:1:2 ...acid/SN/70% IPA seems to work well.

Last brew was 15 grams SN, 15 mls muriatic(Sunnyside)and 30 mls 70% IPA(Equate).

Got about two 10 ml bottles. Very aromatic and potent with no off effects. No yellow dots in the vision, no black out trance....no plunging blood pressure...and no muscular fatigue.

The secret is definitely to limit the amount of water in the reaction. DO NOT ADD ANY WATER. If you do, you will get toxic crap.

Also, dry that muthafucker out. After washing/rinsing/neutralizing...put plenty of drier(KCarb) in there to suck up moisture and a little alcohol.

using less water reduces toxicity? BS! the reaction NEEDS water to happen at all; you're choking the reaction so the weak result doesn't agitate your swollen spleen.

potassium carbonate a drier? It's a preservative (in that it prevents gas eruption which starts the degradation cascade) NOT a drier to much of a degree.
