Over-use of poppers is surely responsible for a lot of the ill-effects encountered by users of this forum (together with old age, atrophied brains and frazzled nervous systems).

Poppers may be fine for one huff just before you cum.

But not for 5, 10, 20 hits over the course of a couple of days all on your lonesome with only your laptop for company!

Nitritespecialist said on Thu, 7 Jul 2022 at 15:53...

@Billy....you cannot possible know what the precise ill effects are from well made poppers, of the most common types. Nor can one know precisely what any enhanced toxic effects are from any of the most likely impurities. One can only make these determinations in a lab, using rigorous research/study methods.

Anecdotally, after 12 years of being my own best guinea pig, constantly making and sometimes buying poppers, I can say with assurance, that for me personally, amyl nitrites have the least toxic effects in that I never feel absolutely horrible after whiffing them.

But isopropyl, isobutyl, and butyl nitrites have all caused absolutely wretched effects in me. Effects that are immediate and profoundly depressing. Why? I think it's a combination of increased volatility and enhanced toxic effects of any number of possible impurities. Don't know it for a fact, but it seems most likely based on 12 years of constant whiffing, making and testing.

Absolutely correct Billy. Some of these older huffers are wondering why they're almost bent in two struggling to breathe for days. It's not dawned on them yet their ageing metabolism just can't handle it anymore.

BrewMeister... said on Thu, 7 Jul 2022 at 16:57...

@Liquid Old.....the aging body is always going to play a role in how a chemical/drug effects it and how those effects are perceived. That's not in dispute.

BUT, this is not the main reason some poppers are immediate toxic garbage and some are not. I have made poppers that are immediate toxic garbage, OR they become so sooner rather than later. I have also made many amyl nitrite brews that are not even close to a toxic level that would make me noticeably ill, even after taking whiffs every day as a senior citizen.

Billy said on Thu, 7 Jul 2022 at 17:06...

The poppers that were "immediate toxic garbage" never did me much harm.

Just like I never got in particular trouble drinking bad wine.

I used to love this particularl good bottle of Bordeaux wine. The first glass would be the solution to all of my problems. The second bottle, however, was not!

The same with poppers. I bought a dodgy Chinese bottle last year and it was soon in the bin when I realized on first whiff that it was like battery acid. But the 'good stuff' from Artisanal Cleaners and GoldenCock Poppers, huffed again and again and again, caused me terrible trouble from which I'm just beginning to recover.

It's about the nature of addiction, not what's in the bottle. We cause ourselves most damage with the purest and most potent substances.

I noticed that after long use I feel relaxed and sleepy and nothing else, for me it is a positive side effect because you can fall asleep after a sleeping pill. I only use original brands like JJ Lockerroom

@Billy Artisanal Cleaners and GoldenCock they look like Chinese fakes lol
Reportedly fresh, made-to-order liquids is from Artisan Products LLC artisanlc.com these are artisanal products. Is also a doublescorpio but all of it is butyl or isobutyl
What kind of trouble do you mean? Can you send more details?

NitriteSpecialist (aka brewmeister, aka anonymous, etc. is all the same person, Ken Jones.

A self appointed 'expert' that know little to nothing? you bet!

most of what he's calling 'toxic' these days is simply too potent for his metabolism and damaged spleen, at age 58, yet he continues to believe that he's 'on' to something after 13 years of repeated failures.

A total waste of time, notice how he attempts to pursuade by berating the experience of others?

First he bites back at Billy, with 'you can't possibly know' BS, then he attacks LiquidOld (cute pun) with his version of a 'lesson'

After going on a rant for months, talking to himself, and his repeated lies, fantasies and fallacies (ad-hominem attack, straw man fallacy, appeal to authority are three of his favorites), he now expects his words to be accepted at face value when he's absolutely demolished his credibility here, there and everywhere.

NO soup for you Ken!

Just to put into words one harm of poppers:

What I find is that the more I do, the more energy I have got.

And the less I do, the less energy I have got.

A couple of years ago I got healthily addicted to Bikram Yoga. I would bicycle the 7 mile round trip to the studio in the morning, and do the 90 minute class in a very hot, humid room. It required good control of my breathing and respiratory system.

I got so accustomed to the energy that it gave me, that many many times I would do one class then decide to stick around and take the next 90 minute class, half an hour later! Or I would cycle home, and ride back in the evening.

Whereas with poppers.... The more I huff them, the worse I feel. The more I want to cut myself off from the world. Especially when I "disappear" into a porn scene and it's like it's the only thing that's real. Then the harsh city seems jarring to my shattered nerves and I don't want to confront it. So I stay home feeling sickly.

Bikram along with Ashtanga is particularly popular with recovering addicts because it's intense but also the same every time.

I'm sorry that after all that Bikram I relapsed on poppers after three years clean! It was the second year of lockdown and I was stuck on my own in an anxiety loop... Which I made much much worse with the brown bottle.

I mean, the more in general that I do (especially exercise), the more energy I have.

But the more poppers I do, the less energy I have. Poppers steal my energy.

Liquid Old said on Fri, 8 Jul 2022 at 07:57...

Of course Poppers steal your energy, the oxygen levels are depleted for many hours after huffing. The immune system is lowered too.
Nobody can function properly with low oxygen.

@Billy, why do you come to this forum if you are already convinced you should NOT do poppers of any sort? Just stop!!!! It's crazy not to if you are so convinced they are all toxic garbage, regardless of type or purity.

BrewMeister... said on Fri, 8 Jul 2022 at 09:48...

As for myself, I do STOP inhaling a bad popper as soon as I get toxic effects and I have always striven to make a better, less toxic popper.

Billy said on Fri, 8 Jul 2022 at 10:04...

You are deluding yourself if you think that it is the "bad" poppers that cause you the harm.

No, it is repeated use of the good poppers which harms you!

Just like pure cocaine causes more problems than impure.

That's how addiction works.

I keep coming to this forum because my frazzled nervous system / arousal mechanism always makes me crave poppers. Reminding myself and others of how harmful they were to me may help stop me buying them again.

Liquid Old said on Fri, 8 Jul 2022 at 11:45...

Delusion is a big part of poppers, so is blaming bad Poppers on impurities and brewing techniques.
You're right Billy.

The Professor said on Fri, 8 Jul 2022 at 17:38...

Don't let Ken's incessant needling get to you Ken (I remember on another post he berated you for your beliefs with 'don't believe the hype' ? Sounds like a call to "fight like hell for your country" by ANOTHER deceitful liar trying to raise sorry for his insanity.

The Professor said on Fri, 8 Jul 2022 at 17:42...

Billy, this is what happens with 13 years of hovering over a pot of poisonous vapors with no harm mitigation involved. If he was involved with occupational exposure, OSHA would have shit him down by now for overexposure to toxic substances.

@Billy and All Users: I have previously submitted the following recommendations on this forum and am going to reiterate them again for the benefit of all popper users.

If you are going to use poppers on a relatively frequent basis, I strongly recommend that you take Antioxidant Supplements on a daily basis.

Following are just the minimum supplements, as a starting point:
1. Vitamin B-50 Complex - x 2 day
2. Vitamin C Complex (powder form) - 2,000 Mg x 2 per day
3. Vitamin D - 3,000 IU x 2 day
4. Vitamin E Complex - 400 IU x 2 day
5. NAC - 1,000 Mg x 3 day
6. Electrolyte Complex (powder form) - x 2 day
7. Citrulline Malate (powder form) - x 2 day
8. Aspirin (normal 350 Mg dose tablet) x 2 day

There are many other supplements, (Chinese) herbs, and various spices that can be taken on a daily basis to support the body's immune system and counter the toxic effects of the poppers.

I also recommend that you use poppers in a room which has a window, so you place a box fan in the window and have fresh air coming into the room. Set the fan on low speed.

Bottom Line: If you are going to use poppers, use them in an INTELLIGENT manner and take RESPONSIBILITY for your long-term health. To not do so, is being incredibly stupid.

Liquid Old said on Sat, 9 Jul 2022 at 11:09...

If you're 50+ and absolutely insist on huffing Poppers fresh air is critical. Open your windows wide, you must oxygenate yourself. Your ageing organs are struggling to function.
