I have followed the prep that was posted on here and I got a good yield and an active, pleasant smelling product.

I used argon gas to cover the brew during the reaction and the same type acid, sulfuric. It took about one hour from start to finish to get roughly 20 mls. I very slowly dripped 15mls of cold sulfuric acid into the glass flask. I saw a little orange gas, but not much.

Product smells very mild. It's fruity and a little sweet as described, but with a touch of vanilla. There's also a dryness to the odor, like breathing dry air.

I felt the expected effects and so far am satisfied. A friend who doesn't do poppers said it made him feel pleasantly relaxed.

I used roughly 18-19 mls amyl alcohol.
and 15 grams sodium nitrite and just mixed that in with the alcohol. And I kept everything cold and shook the contents every couple minutes, which was a little difficult since my flask was sitting in ice.

I forgot to mention.....I didn't think I got much yield at first. There was hardly any yellow fluid and a whole lot of white crystal formation. But after I poured off the little bit of yellow fluid, I added a little water, shook the flask and put it back in the ice. I saw more yellow fluid on top, poured it off and repeated this a couple times until I couldn't get anymore yellow fluid to float to the top.

And yes folks...the "expert" has no clue how each type of alkyl nitrite should smell when it's good and pure. It's a good thing cause none of popper making clan will know WTF they've ended up with either. Nor will they know what effects are from the real deal and not some toxic impurity tainting the whole brew. Oh well....if it has any old kick and doesn't smell too bad....it's A OK according to the whacko Professor.

Well to be fair to the Professor...he did tell me his sense of smell sucks so honing in on any exact chemical scent is just impossible for him. Damit!!! No damn help in determining what the fuck I just made.

And per effects....he mentioned two adjectives....BLISS and DEATH....that's about all you got to on with him. No exacting effects relating to a pure popper at all.
