Hi all,
Finished a session with Kaboom a bit ago and I'm still reeling a bit. In a good way. Lord I haven't felt this in years.
I ordered a bottle of Kaboom from Artisinal on Tuesday and it arrived today.
My standby for the last few years has been varying labels of JJ bought locally. This was not that. This was leaps better. I did have an odor, can't place it. sweet and sour locker room?
It was strong. I did have to lay there for about 5-10 minutes collecting myself after. With JJ, on my best day with it I had to recover for maybe 45 seconds.
I'm not a chemist so I don't know what it was made of but it hasn't made me cough or anything so far. With JJ you can tell right away that you're gonna have a cough.
It made me feel similar to what I used to feel 20 years ago with these.

N-butyl nitrite has a distinct odor....mine became very sweet like bananas, and when left open in my bedroom, it made the room smell very VERY distinctly like a recently deodorized locker room. Once you smell it, you never forget it.

Isobutyl nitrite has more of a sweet chemical odor...similar to nail polish compounds. It's very different from n-butyl nitrite.

Kaboom is tert-Butyl nitrite, predominantly. Tert-Butyl can be a fantastic topper; it lends a fresh, bracing aroma and the highest strength possible without exceeding nitric oxide's own reactivity.

Alkyl nitrites shouldn't smell sweet, that's a tell tale indication that the nitrite has degraded to nitRATe. nitRATes have a much higher body load than nitrite.

I've always correlated a sweet pleasant odor with good popper effects...never once did I get bad effects from a sweet, pleasant smelling popper - certainly not from 1000s of home brews.

In fact, most of my n-butyl nitrite brews were funky smelling garbage that caved the BP. The handful that were really good were VERY VERY sweet smelling. They never gave me the dreaded low BP.

My experience has been the opposite, and from kens posts, he tended to agree ( searching poppers place would give a reader a gold mine of Ken
s opinions, but now we're limited to reddit and poppersguide)

There is a difference between pleasant and sweet. a popper should be pleasant (as in not acrid) and CAN be sweet smelling, but aromas are all over the map, and the sweetest of my preps ending up having acetates and nitrates at a higher level than the preps I made that smelled weakly of ginger ale.

Ken's best runs were 'nondecript' not VERY VERY sweet; the sweetest runs gave him low BP

It's the best bottle I've had in years but what goes up must come down. I have a bit of a hangover. My sessions definitely come with a euphoria, like it puts me in a super good mood and there is a long afterglow. But the next day feel like a little bit of a comedown like after a night of cocaine, but less intense. I might have overdone it with the sessions yesterday though. lol

Yes that is my experience too. Dopamine overload and then the inevitable crash.

I usually end up having to pour away whatever bottles I've ordered within three days because I'm overdoing it so much and won't stop otherwise.

Taking a cold shower mid session when you are totally fucked and need to reconnect with reality a little is something I've also found myself doing.

I did get a full night of sleep and somehow had an amazing workout this morning. But yeah, I have spent a bulk of this weekend huffing. It's been amazing though. lol

@BIlly - Catholic?

Billy said on Mon, 15 Nov 2021 at 18:40...

Baptised but not practising. One day I hope I will be!

What gave you the idea? The sense of my being caught in cycles of shame guilt and repeated indulgence?

Funster said on Tue, 16 Nov 2021 at 02:06...

Yes. LOL. Way back in the day I would toss my bottles sometimes after one use due to that conditioning.

They sent me Kaboom isopropyl, Adonis and Ms.c isopropyl too, sorry I will not order again in artisanal corners.

Sending thoughts and prayers, Jacko!

Billy said on Fri, 19 Nov 2021 at 06:21...

But are you really sure? Nobody has ever said anything about Artisanal sending out anything other than what's on the tin.

However, bottles that have lost their seal and gone rancid in the post are possible. I received one of those myself.

Try contacting them and see if they'll send you replacements.

@Billy, Hello, I have been using poppers for many years, and I have used isopropyl and propyl many times, which is the shit they sell in Europe where I live, since isobutyl is not sold here, in Europe you only find Amyl (pentyl), pentyl and isopropyl and propyl, I can assure you that the smell and the effects of the bottles that I bought in artisanal cleaners were those of isopropyl, especially I noticed it in Kaboom, I don't know if it will be an isolated case but I assure you that what I smelled and the effects were not They were from butyl nitrites, I am sure it was isopropyl.

Billy said on Sat, 20 Nov 2021 at 14:00...

Okay I believe you! Still maybe try emailing them and see what they say?

I'm also in Europe and for me pentyl like Radikal Rush gave me absolutely the worst side effects, I mean full-on dissociative anxiety disorder. At least with isopropyl it was such garbage (no psychoactive effect) that I would pour it down the drain after a few hits. But I'd keep going with pentyl with terrible results on my health and wellbeing.

Maybe you should try Golden Cock? They have a butyl blend and an n-butyl. They don't charge so much for postage either.

Jacko said on Mon, 22 Nov 2021 at 11:24...

@Billy,I have asked them several times, (Golden Cock) and for what is on the market today they are not bad, they have: Isobutyl, N-Butyl, Amyl (pentyl), Iso-amyl, all with different scents, but although the Today's poppers are not what they were, at least these are not bad at all, the ones I like the most are the mixture of Amyl (pentyl) and Isobutyl, with these two I get more or less pleasant effects, iso-amyl smells Very good at bananas, I definitely like Golden Cock.
Also if you are in Europe, I recommend the Amyl de Popper-aromas.

Billy said on Mon, 22 Nov 2021 at 17:02...

I'm just wary of trying amyl or isoamyl again because of the terrible side effects I got from Radical Rush which is a pentyl...and I think pentyl is basically amyl? Perhaps I'm confused though and need to look again at what's what.

I also remember the poppers of 10 years ago rocketed me to another dimension in a way I haven't experienced since. But honestly I have to think my being 10 years younger, and also being around hotter women, account for a lot of the difference. I was just more alive back then!

Age and metabolism and what's going on in your life in general are very significant factors.

Always Poppers. Everything Poppers. said on Wed, 24 Nov 2021 at 00:23...

Kaboom is really great but I can only get one great session from the bottle and the next day it's time to throw away. That's my experience.

New to Poppers said on Mon, 13 Dec 2021 at 13:22...

I thought I over used poppers and went looking for something stronger. I got the three pack sample. The lowest level gave me a nasty cough so I didn't even try to use the others. is a cough normal?

Billy said on Mon, 10 Jan 2022 at 12:22...

Yes, sadly, and one day it'll be the cough that caries you off!
