Wrong question. All the common nitrites can be very "potent" when fresh, pure, dry and free from acids.

The ideal popper is one that maximizes pleasure while minimizing any toxic side effects, especially those that can occur quickly. From my experience, normal amyl nitrite fits that description.

Animal studies have shown that all popper nitrites can kill mice if given at high enough concentrations for prolonged periods. Death is caused by anemia, low O2 in the red blood cells. However, the most important, immediate side effect that commonly occurs while whiffing poppers is LOW BLOOD PRESSURE. The various nitrites all lower blood pressure, BUT some lower it more and faster than others and even prevents the blood pressure from bouncing back to a healthy level. Low blood pressure causes everyone to feel VERY VERY weak and sick. Only the amyl nitrites(normal amyl and isoamyl) are less likely to cave blood pressure in the doses most inhalers are accustomed to.
