Do poppers react with rubber?

Sure. Nitrites will burn a lot of stuff. But didn't they used to have little rubber rings on the cap to make the seal better...hmmm. Maybe depends what type of rubber. Y'all mean like rubber clothing?

Yes, rubber, plastics, etc... Nitrite and those materials become toxic, so steer clear. I use a mask with a rubber seal. But, the difference is the only thing that makes 'contact' with the rubber portion of the mask is the vapor itself, not the actual liquid. Any Nitrite liquid which makes contact with Rubber, plastic is bad. A cap with PTFE lining is fine.
