Titter ye not.

I firmly believe we have to look to the east for the secret.

Nothing to be ashamed of, luv. I mean if you like camp old drama queens then good for you. Jack Whitehall is more my cup of tea though, don't like his jokes though, tight jeans yes, off color gags, no.

I'm also a gig fan of Danny La rue and Foo Foo Lamarr.

Danny La Rue was all big skirts and singing I think? A different kind of artiste to the spit and sawdust kind. Strange phenomenon drag queens...I will have to look up Foo Foo...what a lovely name :-)

Hinge and Bracket! Original female impersonator acts relied on misogyny to raise a laugh.

'Hinge and Bracket! Original female impersonator acts relied on misogyny to raise a laugh.'

They were also relying on 'other stuff' to raise things.

The original acts used to be very straight men dressed up as gals making sexist jokes, kitchen sink nagging stuff I suppose. I had a row last week with someone about Morecambe and Wise! Turned quite nasty too :-) Their gags are based on the dynamic of man and wife, and Eric was able to use comic violence and abuse against his thrifty and vain "spouse". Apart from the fact that daft people like Robert Morley etc used to show up, there was little else. Sorry, give me the Two Ron's any day.

Bah! "Turned quite nasty too" you must have been pleased about that...troll! Take your feminist critiques of light entertainment and stick them where the sun don't shine ;-)

"daft people like Robert Morley"

nice try....nobody will bite though

Ellen DeGeneres is being called 'transphobic' you know. The original acts, luv? going long before they had kitchens sinks.
