I'm a new reader of this forum and I have come across many topics where someone identified as The Professor and someone he calls Ken (though usually identified as Anonymous) throw various jibes at each other. I have searched the beginning of the posts to see where it all started, unsuccessfully... so what is the deal with these two? Do they know each other in real life? Is this a feud that developed here on the web? Why do they always talk smack about one another?

I met Ken (aka John Mulligan, aka Ken Jones Lee, aka PopperMaker, aka NitriteSpecialist, aka MadePlentyPoppers, aka NitriteExpert, aka whatever i missed, oh yeah, now anonymous, more than a decade ago in a forum called PoppersPlace (now defunct).

He was running a topic regarding making poppers IIRC something like 280 pages of posts when I joined. By that time, the OTHER makers on that forum where stuck in a cycle.

First, they had to contend with a series of posts in which Ken would first post 'OMG I found it; heaven, nirvana, the secret, whatever' followed X days later by 'it all turned to junk'

For YEARS

if that wasn't enough, we had to not only contend with Ken's wild theories about Joe Miller and how he was making Amyl poppers, and his uninformed opinions on how to make a safe, pure strong product.

At one point, he was so certain that he'd ofund Joe's secret that he was getting ready to buy 10ml bottles and caps and go into production.

Later, he outright abandoned that forum

So I started my own forum, and MOST of the people that had been frustrated by Ken and his attitude also joined, and they are having great success to this day.

He'll vascillate between acting like an over-confident hipster that has no time for chemistry, to trying to impose HIS misunderstanding of University texts, in order to prove some imagined 'point' he is trying to make.
