First off, I want to say that I am not posting this on a poppers subreddit because I think that poppers and ethyl chloride (EC) are the same/similar. I am posting it on here because I think that a decent amount of poppers users would know about EC, regardless of whether they have used it or not.

Anyway, I have been a pretty light poppers user, using them on and off for a couple months at a time, with several months of non-use in between. The reason for this sporadic use is that I seem to get uncommon side effects with poppers. I seem to develop jock itch when I use them (I hypothesise that the immunosuppressive effect of poppers allows any normal fungal flora in that area to grow out of control, kind of like an opportunistic infection). I'm not here to discuss whether you think this side effect is directly related to poppers or not, because I definitely know that it is for me. Also, I've recently started getting a rash/eczema flare up right above my lip less than a day after using poppers.

I've been looking for an alternative to amyl, and I've known about EC for a while now. I've watched videos of guys getting fucked while on EC it seems so incredibly hot, so naturally I've been wanting to try EC. However, I've done some reading on EC as well though, and it seems to be a lot more dangerous than poppers. Way easier to overdose on them and the overdose effects being a lot more deadly. I've read things about addiction to EC as well.

A lot of the responses online that I read about trying ethyl chloride seem to be to not try it at all and that the risks of using it completely outweigh any high you could get with it. I'm really curious to try it, but I'm afraid of this 'sudden sniffing death syndrome'. I guess my questions are should I stay away from ethyl chloride altogether? Is it really that dangerous if you use it in moderation and don't abuse it? Could you equate it to using illicit drugs (ice, etc) where even just trying it once is gonna lead you down a spiralling hole of addiction? Have you tried it before or do you know of anyone who has used it?

Sorry if this post mentions Reddit. I tried posting it on there but it kept getting picked up as spam and never ended up posting. Also, the title of this post should end with "Is it safe to even try?"

I've tried EC many times especially when I wanted to go further with my giant anal toys. But I usually only take a few hits per session as I'm aware it's quite addictive and dangerous. I used them in combination with poppers and despite all the warnings I never had a problem. Personally I think the risks are probably a bit exaggerated.

But I still prefer poppers. Poppers make me feel better and sluttier where EC doesn't have this effect. EC can even ruin a session because the slutty horny feeling can disappear.

I've tried EC a number of times way back. You have to like the effects of something to get addicted to it. I didn't like the effects of EC so I stopped using it. It makes you go numb and unconscious. It slows down the heart rate while the poppers are make it go much faster. These two wildly opposing effects on heart rate, alone, would make me NOT recommend doing both poppers and EC in the same session.

So does EC make you feel slutty at all? I love the slutty/extra horny feeling that poppers give. Does it enhance orgasms or make watching porn any more enjoyable? Thanks for the responses.

No EC doesn't make you more slutty. It numbs your ass and also you brain a little. So it creates a trancy feeling that lasts only for a couple of seconds.

EC did NOT make me slutty, nor did it relax the A hole. It just makes you go unconscious...ringing in ears...tunnel vision.....slow heart rate.....sort of totally out of it effect.

I completely believe you guys, but I'm surprised by it not making you guys feel slutty at all. I've watched porn where guys get fucked while huffing EC and it seems like they're having the time of their life - moaning, squirming, intense reactions.

"Sprays" have nothing to do with volatile nitrites, their action is the exact opposite....oh and they are dangerous. AVOID.

"I hypothesise" never a good idea unless you are qualified to do so :-)

Just like the author of the article above, I've found that using poppers has at times caused a reaction with jock itch and I'm a very clean, hygienic person. But occasionally when using poppers my groin will a day later at night turn into a firey itch that is relentless and I NEVER have had any previous issues with jock itch, hence some type of allergic reaction. I've also had other areas become quite itchy such as arms and legs. Have gone to a dermatologist and have been checked for bugs and nothing. So like the author of the article, I too have had the same reaction to poppers at times.
