I have yet more evidence that LRM's pentyl nitrite can be dramatically improved with the addition of anhydrous potassium carbonate and MS4.

I opened my second 30 ml JJ Black and tried it as is. Odor was OK, but a little bitey. Effects are strong, but a little bit of slam effect.

So I poured off 10 mls and added Kcarb and MS4 and within hours, the effects had dramatically improved....and the odor had become more neutral. It's like a whole different level of effects has been achieved. There's more physical/mental pleasure with it. I don't know which, the Kcarb or MS4, are responsible, because I didn't use one or the other. I used both. And I don't know exactly why the effects seem stronger and better. Perhaps volatility has increased. Perhaps some impurity was impeding effects and its presence has been reduced. Whatever the case may be, the pentyl is much more fun after adding the additives.

So....anyone who likes LRM's pentyl nitrite might want to try these additives and describe any changes, positive or negative.

Pentyl Nitrite could be any isomer of pentanol. What is your guess? n-Amyl or IsoAmyl? or?

Question for the experts out there:

Can I reuse the molecular sieves found in a used bottle of verified PWD product in another bottle of poppers to help preserve them?
Is there a process I need to follow for optimal reuse? To clean and dry them? I’ll be doing this at home with no access to actual laboratory equipment.
I’m awaiting an order of LRM product from PA.eu. I’ve seen several threads on here sharing insights on how to preserve product etc.
Any helpful information is welcome, thanks!

They're are method to extend a product's life.

If the product burns your nose, gives you congestion, sore throat, etc. Or likely had acid dissolved in the Nitrite.

To neutralize
http://poppersguide.com/forum/11627

If you store in SEALED containers, and use from a separate container, an alkali metallic carbonate (like potassium carbonate) at 0.5-2% w/v will prevent gas buildup (and subsequent decomposition)

If you use and store from the same bottle, 10% w/v baking soda and 5% w/v molecular sieve (3 or 4 angstrom) will both neutralize acid and absorb water as they happen.

For a 30ml bottle, that's about a teaspoon of baking soda and half teaspoon of sieves.

Loudwolf on Amazon sells pre--activated sieve in small quantity.

I just tested my 30 ml bottle of LRM's JJ Black....stored with Kcarb/MS4. It's been 3 or 4 days since I opened the bottle.

It's very very strong without any slamming effect. Hardly any odor...nondescript. Effects wear off in a few minutes but are easy to sustain with repeat whiffs. After the last whiff, I definitely knew I was under the lingering influence for about 3 or 4 minutes. I don't need anything stronger. This does everything I want it to.

No problem, enjoy!
