ok so about 2 years ago I was abusing poppers pretty heavy. started huffing it instead of sniffing it. One night i was on rhino pills (sex pills from the gas station) alcohol and I was takiing a hot shower with my girl. i decided to huff while in there. as soon as I did......i lost my breathe and it turned to what i presume to be a full blown panic attack. i tested a bit but was panicked i couldnt breathe which was causing anxiety and the whole situation felt like i was suffocating. from the next morning to weeks later i went to ER due to constant breathlessness and I lost 30 lbs in this timeframe ......entire time telling them exactly what happened. they said the poppers dont last that long and im just having anxiety attacks.....never had one before. got a primary physician and got seen by every specialist i could think of..... heart, lung, ENT. had full body scans...only thing showing up is/was high WBC and a mark on my throat they presume is from acid reflux. its been over 2 years now and I still have no answers. has anyone heard of breathlessness from popper usage?

Sounds like a freak medical event. I would never do poppers in a hot place, under steam, or when it's hot outside and you're fucking under the sun. It's because they make you warmer by increasing blood flow and you might get really overheated and feel like shit. If you were having a type of allergic reaction in your lungs from the poppers, it should have cleared up after a few weeks. There could have been impurities in the poppers that triggered your condition. In any case, stay away from poppers. Not worth the anxiety and risk.

@thatguy - I had the same effect as well but I'm not a hundred percent sure if it was Rush. I swore to god I was breathless for the entire evening and I couldn't sleep. It felt like I had an asthma attack. Tried another brand and limited myself to only sniffing it like two or three times and I ended up fine. I forgot which brand I used during the time I had the attack. I guess what I had was a fake one or maybe not. I really can't tell.
