I found another prep mentioned in an old science paper from 1912...Taylor was the chemist.

6.8 grams 95% sulfuric acid OR about 21-22 grams(15-16 mls) battery acid 33% specific gravity of 1.265.

15.2 mls one pentanol. The cold acid is dripped into cold alcohol on high stir. If using battery acid, the solution must be constantly stirred to keep the two fluids mixed lest their be instant separation when the stir bar is stopped.

10 grams SN into 30 mls water cold.

Add the acid/alcohol below the surface about 1/3 way....

Separate, wash with saturated baking soda/salt 4 to 5 times. Dry on mag sulfate....pour off onto potassium carbonate and some MS4. You can repeat the last step after 6-12 hours...to make sure you are good and dry.

I made 4 brews....using only ambient outdoor temps...no ice bath....20s to low 50s was the outdoor range temps. Yield....about 10mls finished.

Good odor and effects. Loose as a goose.
