I received 100 mls of isoamyl nitrite from Tokyo Chemical and here's what happened.

Upon opening the factory sealed bottle, I smelled some nasty sour foot odor with a touch of acid. Lots of bubbles appeared when I pipetted a portion into fresh bottles. Contents was clear and light yellow. Odor proved too nasty and effects seemed weak and off.

So I washed portions of the nitrite with equal parts distilled water and dried on anhydrous sodium carbonate....and then poured into fresh bottle with sodium carbonate and MS4. Effects are 100 times better, stronger....and odor much improved too.

Do you use a vacuum rinsing vessel ? Isn’t contact with water supposed to destroy the nitrite ?

Yep water is bad...but if the popper isn't any good, nothing to lose.
